Writing with Rapport
Rapport is a relationship of mutual trust and understanding. Writing with rapport is a way of using the written word to create and foster that relationship.
People crave connections. We do business based on relationships and trust. We learn through the understanding we develop with other people.
And yet we live and work in a disconnected, fast-moving world. We spent more and more time online, and more and more time communicating with each other not in person but through the written word.
That makes our words more important than ever. We rely even more heavily on our writing to communicate who we are, what matters, what drives us, what kind of connections we want to make.
And that means we need to change the way we write. We need to learn new skills: not just the old grammar rules but a new set of principles to help us make connections. We need to learn how to write with rapport.
